John Smith Scholarship
We are developing the John Smith scholarship program to serve disadvantaged youths in the Seattle area. The program is in honor of Rusty Oliver’s stepfather whom has a lifelong commitment to helping others by sharing knowledge, skills and encouraging planning and hard work as a pathway to personal prosperity. We will offer free instruction to help qualified individuals develop a career pathway that will help them to grow, prosper and meet their personal life goals.

We have begun this process by meeting with non-profit experts over the last six weeks and then providing a welding class for 15 of the clients in the Youthbuild program. This has helped us begin a partnership with an organization that has extensive experience with the clientele we will be serving. It also helped us establish the validity of what we have to offer this community, and our suitability as instructors.
