Once you have worked with MIG equipment, your brain will be much better at interpreting the arc and you will be familiar with fundamental welding concepts. This will make it substantially easier for you to learn TIG, which is more demanding and complex.

About the Event

Class runs from 10 am to 2 p.m.

Tungsten inert gas is much more difficult and demanding than MIG (GMAW or FCAW) welding. In this four-hour class we learn how to operate TIG welding machines, ranging from hobbyist to light-industrial class machines.

The class size is very small, not more than five people. You should plan on REPEATING THIS CLASS, possibly several times, if you want to learn how to weld aluminum. We are typically working with clients at very different skill levels which is not an obstacle because the class size is small.

Welding is typically taught over the course of a year. We can teach you much more rapidly than that but you should still think in terms of committing at least ten hours to become familiar with the machines and generate a usefull skill level.

We can show you to weld aluminum, but you should know…

  • TIG contact to schedule.

Hey, trying to learn TIG first simply does not work. Please don't sign up till you have at least five to ten hours with MIG or Stick welding. If your brain can't recognize an arc yet, this will be harder than it needs to be.
